Include any ways of contacting your organisation that you’re happy to publish on the Web. If you’re giving someone else’s details, first ensure they’re happy for these details to be published.

Please include an e mail address for the organisation if at all possible. It need not be published, but it is helpful to us as we use e mail for updating purposes.

If you’re the main contact for the group, click on the Primary contact box.

N.b. If there is an out of date contact in place you need to delete this and add a new contact.

    Opening times:

    Monday: 10am to 5pm;
    Tuesday: closed;
    Wednesday: 10am to 6pm;
    Thursday: 10am to 5pm;
    Friday: 10am to 5pm;
    Saturday 10am to 12pm;
    Sunday: closed.

    Skelmanthorpe Community Library is supported by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers and is located in the heart of the Skelmanthorpe village. It is also the location of the administrative office for Denby Dale Parish Council.

    There are 3 rooms of varying sizes that can be booked by organisations.

    There are 2 free public access computers available which can be booked for use and a printer/photocopier for which there is a small charge.

    Every library in Kirklees has a range of books available for members to borrow free of charge. It’s free to join; call in to your library with some ID.

    You can also borrow talking books, large print books, and at some libraries DVDs. We also offer e-books and e-audio. Search the library catalogue to see what’s available.

    Every library has public access computers that library members can use free of charge. You can also print for a small charge. We offer free basic IT help to anyone who would like to feel more confident using computers.

    Library staff will help you access information, council services, learning and volunteering opportunities.

    We run a range of groups and activities from family history sessions and readers' group to craft groups and children's rhyme times, please contact the library for more information

Normally we add categories for you when the entry is set up, but you have the option to edit them. Very occasionally some categories have restricted usage and we’ll let you know if we feel there’s a problem.

Events and activities

Detailed help

Your events will appear on our ‘What’s on’ pages. You can include anything that people come along to see, such as festivals, shows, fairs, talks and concerts.

Choose + Add event to add details of your event, step by step.

You’ll need to fill in these details:

  • Event name
  • Description - what your event is
  • Dates and times
  • Admission details
  • Venue
  • Contact

You can then Publish your event straight away or choose Save and edit to add more details first. You can add more event information at any time, including:

  • Images
  • Facilities
  • Links and PDF documents

Events

Your activities will appear on our ‘Things to do’ pages. You can include any regular ongoing activities that people can join in with, such as scouts and guides, youth clubs, craft groups, dancing, sports clubs and gardening clubs.

Choose + Add activity to add details of your activity, step by step.

You’ll need to fill in these details:

  • Activity name
  • Description – what your activity is
  • Dates and times
  • Admission details
  • Venue
  • Contact

You can then Publish your activity straight away or choose Save and edit to add more details first. You can add more activity information at any time, including:

  • Images
  • Facilities
  • Links and PDF documents

Venue

If you want to change your venue or add a new one please use the postcode / street name field to see a list of venues. This should cover all venues in Kirklees, but if you can’t find the venue you need please contact Community Directory, and we will advise or add it for you.

Facilities

Use this field to give more details of items relating to your meetings or premises, such as parking, public transport, disabled access and toilets, crèche, computers.
