About the venue

  1. As well as having the traditional library service, including free use of public access computers and internet, the information point operates a bill payment service including cash (through a kiosk facility) and the provision of advice and guidance on a variety of other Council services.

    A free phone allows customers direct access to other Council departments.

    An issuing service is available for Kirklees Passports (applicants need to provide their own photographs).

    The library section offers:

    Reference, Information and study:
    Book lending for adults and children; public internet access workstations; quick reference collection; community information; homework collection; photocopying and fax service; local and national newspapers.

    Special loan collections:
    Young adults collection; books for babies.

    Audio visual loan service:
    Talking books; large print.

    Childrens storytime for under 5s. Every Wednesday in term time at 2pm.

    Specialist advice surgeries:

    Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing - Monday, Thursday and Friday 9.30am to 12.30pm

    Benefits advice - every Tuesday 10am to 4pm
    (appointments only, please ring library to arrange)

    Gateway to care information and blue badge applications
    Daily during library opening hours.
