Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw

About the event

Performed by Dewsbury Arts Group. One of the most celebrated plays of the 20th Century. A play which not only spawned a great film starring Leslie Howard and Wendy Hiller but was also adapted into one of the greatest musicals of all time – My Fair Lady.

Will Professor Higgins manage to mould and improve the young and enthusiastic Eliza? Will Pickering manage to keep Higgins in check, protecting the innocence of the girl? Will Eliza manage to better herself and live a more productive and socially acceptable life if she can speak proper? And what of the bullying and unpleasant father, Alfred P. Doolittle?

A timeless classic which explores the vagaries of humanity, raising the questions of life, love and everything.
