Battle's Over: a nation's tribute

About the event

The Cliff Recreation Ground has been the site of national and royal celebrations, including the end of World War One, for over 100 years. "Battle's Over" is part of the national commemoration of the centenary of the end of World War One. It is a tribute "to the millions killed or wounded in battle and those on the home front who struggled, amidst pain and loss, to help ensure freedom survived."

There will be music from members of Hade Edge Band, including the last post and the lighting of the beacon at 7-00pm. The representative of the Lord-Lieutentant of West Yorkshire will read the poem "The tribute to the Millions".

The access to Cliff Rec and the Rec itself is rough and uneven ground. Please wear suitable footwear and bring a torch. There is no lighting. Come on foot, if possible and if not, please park away from the Rec.
