The Baronets of Ruddigore are cursed and anyone who succeeds to the title must commit a daily crime or perish.

Robin Oakapple loves Rose Maybud but both are too shy to tell each other.

Robin has a secret. He is really Sir Ruthven Murgatroyd and the older brother of Despard.

Ruthven is confronted by the ghosts of his ancestors but has a solutuion with surprising consequences!
